People have been cultivating rice (Oryza sativa) for at least the past five thousand years, making it one of the world's oldest cereal grains. Nearly 80% of rice's dry weight comes from carbohydrates, making them the grain's primary component. The starch in rice makes up the bulk of its carbohydrate content. Foods often contain starch as their primary source of carbohydrate. Based on their length to breadth ratio when cooked, different types of rice are categorised as short, medium, or long grain. We are well-positioned to address the rising demand for rice because to our robust presence in Western Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. Farmers, governments, customers, and civil society partners are all a part of our ongoing efforts to make the global rice supply chain more environmentally friendly.
